Government nutrition programs help low-income individuals and families obtain healthier diets.
Learn whether you and members of your family are eligible for any of the government nutrition programs:
SNAP is the government's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as Food Stamps. The SNAP program provides eligible individuals and families with benefits that can be used for purchasing foods at stores and farmers markets.
WIC or the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children program provides federal grants to states so they can provide supplemental food vouchers, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant or breastfeeding women and infants and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk, or the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
